Lowry Park Zoo

Rated as one of the top three midsize zoos in the country, Lowry Park Zoo features more than 1,500 animals of 375 different species. Several areas within the zoo focus on native animals such as the rare Florida panther, primates, a free flight aviary, and a petting zoo. Sure to score big points with the kids, the reptile encounter showcases lots a slimy inhabitants. The park is also a major research center and hospital for the endangered West Indian manatee.

Big Cat Rescue

Big Cat Rescue is one of the world’s largest sanctuaries for wild cats. We provide a permanent retirement home for approximately 150 lions, tigers, leopards, cougars, servals, caracals, sand cats, etc., representing 16 of the 35 species of exotic cat. Nowhere else can so many species of exotic cat be found in one place. We offer guided educational tours at 14 set times during the week. We also have special tours where you can closely observe the feeding of the cats, the “operant conditioning” used to train the cats to do natural behaviors on command to allow us to provide better care, and the “enrichment” activities that help make their lives more interesting. We also do private tours, tours for schools or other groups, weddings and birthday parties.
Malibu Grand Prix

The high-powered Indy style Formula racecars are the major draw at Malibu Grand Prix. These miniature versions travel at speeds up to 60 miles per hour, and visitors race around a ¾-miletrack. Guests must be 18 or older with a valid drivers license, or 16 or older with a valid drivers license and parent or guardian present. For the younger kids, a Mini-Grand prix is available for children 8 years or older. The attraction also offers batting cages, a miniature golf course, and a gameroom.

Ruth Eckerd Hall

Ruth Eckerd Hall was nominated one of the top five concert halls in the United States. It comfortably seats 2,180 for concerts, recitals, plays and special events. In addition to the 200 events presented annually by the center, community groups and nationally recognized arts organizations, including The Florida Orchestra, lease the venue.
When the sun goes down, Tampa Bay's nightlife scene heats up. Bay Area bands crank out reggae, rock, blues, country, punk, salsa and jazz all over town. New on the party scene as trendy spots for a sophisticated crowd are Channelside and International Plaza's Bay Street. SoHo is a trendy site to mix and mingle while Ybor City is largely considered party central in Tampa Bay.
On weekend nights, Ybor's 7th Avenue welcomes up to 40,000 fun-seekers converging on the district in search of a good time, as music flows out into the avenues creating a street party atmosphere. It is no wonder Tampa is considered the "Nightlife Capital of Florida's West Coast."
